The Manchester, New Hampshire Branch of the NAACP honored five community leaders at its second annual Freedom Fund Dinner in Manchester, November 13.
Recognized for their contributions to local efforts to uplift justice and civil rights were (l to r) Brenda Lett, Jacqueline Davis, Zane Knoy, Lillye Ramos-Spooner, and the Rev. Dr. Bertha Perkins.
The Rt. Rev. Gayle Harris, Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, decried the hatred and racism evident in the recent election campaign and called for people to come together across racial and ethnic lines. “This, too, will pass if you and I stand up,” she said.
